Financial Opportunity Center (FOC) Coach

Do you enjoy helping people overcome barriers, build confidence, and move toward greater independence? Are you someone who can coach one-on-one, connect with people in the community, and help make things like finances, employment, and technology feel a little less overwhelming?

NOCAC is looking for a Financial Opportunity Center Coach to help individuals strengthen their financial stability, improve employment opportunities, build digital skills, and work toward greater self-sufficiency.

This is a hands-on, community-based position for someone who enjoys working directly with people, building relationships, and connecting individuals with the tools and resources they need to succeed.

What You’ll Do

As a Financial Opportunity Center Coach, you’ll:

• Provide one-on-one coaching to help participants identify goals, overcome barriers, and improve their financial and employment situation
• Help individuals with budgeting, credit building or rebuilding, debt repayment, savings strategies, and understanding credit reports
• Assist job seekers with resumes, job searches, interview preparation, career planning, and employment goals
• Provide ongoing support to help participants retain employment and advance in their careers
• Help individuals build basic digital skills, including computer use, email, internet navigation, online applications, and accessing online services
• Connect participants with resources for internet access, devices, technology support, and other community services
• Develop and lead workshops on financial literacy, employment readiness, digital skills, and self-sufficiency
• Build relationships with employers, libraries, schools, senior centers, shelters, faith-based organizations, and other community partners
• Represent the Financial Opportunity Center at community events, resource fairs, presentations, and networking opportunities
• Actively recruit participants and help increase awareness of Financial Opportunity Center services throughout our service area
• Maintain participant records, case notes, progress information, and documentation needed for program and grant reporting
• Travel regularly throughout the assigned counties to meet participants and community partners

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is approachable, organized, resourceful, and comfortable working independently in the community.

Qualifications include:

• Associate’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field preferred
• Candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent and relevant experience in employment services, financial coaching, digital literacy, human services, or community services will also be considered
• Experience providing education, guidance, advocacy, coaching, or support to individuals, particularly those from low-income households
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills
• Ability to build trusting, professional relationships with participants and community partners
• Comfort using technology and helping others learn basic digital skills
• Ability to problem-solve, adapt, and respond professionally in challenging situations
• Experience working with community partners or community-based programs preferred
• Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and ability to travel throughout NOCAC’s six-county service area
• Ability to meet NOCAC and funding-source pre-employment requirements, including required background and drug/alcohol screenings and employment physical
