IFSP/IEP – Services for Parents

POLICY:

NOCAC Head Start/Early Head Start will conduct, within 45 calendar days of the child’s entry into the program, a developmental screening to identify concerns regarding a child’s developmental, behavioral, motor, language, social, cognitive and emotional skills.

 

PROCEDURES:

  1. At the time of the referral, the teacher will explain the time lines set by Local Education Agency (LEA) and how/when the LEA will contact the family.
  2. Informing the family that by signing the Child Service Plan Referral (CSPR) and/or Release of Information (ROI) Head Start staff are invited to all meetings regarding the child when NOCAC Head Start is the initiating Agency.
  3. Providing support during all meetings regarding the evaluation of each child referred.
  4. Facilitating in the IFSP Evaluation Team Report (ETR) and Individual Education Plan (IEP) meeting by providing accurate information about the child and supporting the parents if they have questions or concerns.
