POLICY:
NOCAC Head Start/Early Head Start works in collaboration with the Local Education Agency (LEA) who determines Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) services and eligibility.
PROCEDURES:
- If a child is determined to be eligible for services under IDEA, the program must partner with parents and the local agency responsible for implementing IDEA, as appropriate, and deliver the services:
- If, after the formal evaluation described in Head Start Program Performance Standards 1302.33(a)(3)(i) the LEA responsible for implementing IDEA determines the child is not eligible for early intervention or special education and related services under IDEA, the program will:
- Receive information from the LEA’s physical, occupational and speech/language therapists to share with staff and parents regarding activities that can be done at the home and center based on the observation and/or evaluation conducted.
- Revisit/Continue the CSP
