This position provides individualized, long-term service and support related to finances and employment to consumers. This person would also deliver informative workshops and training with instructional skills on topics related to the focus of the Financial Opportunity Center (FOC). This position works 32 hours, Monday-Thursday and qualifies for full benefits. 

Job duties would include:

  • Provide 1:1 counseling/coaching to consumers related to finances, employment and enrollment in other FOC services. Engage and form professional relationships in order to help them see the value of their role in resolving their own financial situation.
  • Conduct workshops regarding topics related to the FOC as a means of outreach and education, as needed.
  • Develop plans of action and provide tools and resources to the client to help them meet their financial goals (budgeting, savings, credit, etc).
  • Conduct a skills and training needs assessment for clients in need of a clearer career path or employment. Create an employment plan based on the client’s employment goals.
  • Prepare clients for the job search process. This includes assisting in the development of a personalized and professional resume as well as preparing for the interview and hiring process (mock interviews).
  • Develop working relationships with local financial institutions, local training/education providers and community organizations to assist consumers in meeting their goals.
  • Conduct ongoing recruitment of potential FOC participants.
  • Give presentations to outside organizations about Financial Opportunity Center Programs as a mechanism for referrals and future community partnership development.
  • Develop curriculum and present regularly scheduled group training and instructional opportunities in conjunction with other partners (when appropriate). Provide a variety of training topics related to financial literacy and self-sufficiency. Assure that curriculum is appropriate for the intended audience and addresses program outcome goals.

Salary: $19.40 – $20.80/hr (based on educational qualifications)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a minimum of an Associate’s Degree.
  • Must be able to speak with groups of people.
  • Demonstrated work experience with providing services to low-income consumers, preferred.
  • Willing to drive to multiple counties (mileage reimbursed $ .625 per mile)

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand/sit for extended periods at a time.
  • Must have excellent organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written).
