Defiance, Ohio Region | In-Field + Office-Based
Monday–Thursday, 34 Hours/Week
$19.40 – $20.80 per hour (based on education)

At NOCAC, we believe housing is a human right—and we’re looking for a compassionate, solution-focused professional to help vulnerable individuals and families find their footing again.
As a Housing Stabilization Specialist, you’ll provide one-on-one support to people experiencing homelessness. From securing safe housing to helping stabilize their lives, your work will directly shape the futures of those most in need.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist with housing search & placement for individuals and families in crisis
- Build strong relationships with landlords and community housing partners
- Conduct home visits & housing inspections
- Track participant goals and outcomes, including monthly housing stability assessments
- Educate tenants on rights, responsibilities, and how to maintain stable housing
- Coordinate services with mental health providers, social service agencies, and internal team members
- Document case notes, program progress, and housing outcomes with care and accuracy

Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Social Work or related field + 2 years of public service, or
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field (preferred)
- Valid Ohio driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and insurable driving record
- Strong documentation and computer skills
- Must be able to stand for periods of time and navigate stairs.
- Experience with housing-first models, trauma-informed care, or working with people facing poverty or mental health challenges is highly valuable
