POLICY:
NOCAC Head Start/Early Head Start (HS/EHS) will coordinate with the LEA (Local Education Agency) responsible for implementing IDEA.
PROCEDURES:
- NOCAC HS/EHS will collaborate with the LEA to identify children enrolled or who intend to enroll in a program that may be eligible for services under IDEA. See the Referral Process Policy for further guidance.
- NOCAC HS/EHS will meet annually with the LEA to develop interagency agreements.
- NOCAC HS/EHS will provide relevant information, participate in the development and review of an IFSP/IEP and participate in meetings with the LEA, if requested by the child’s parents and the implantation of the IFSP/IEP. See the Referral Process for further guidance.
- NOCAC HS/EHS will retain a copy of the IFSP/IEP for any child enrolled and will be tracked in ChildPlus.
