Location: Archbold, Ohio
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, August through May (34 hours per week)
Pay Rate: $24.03 per hour
Classification: Part-Year, Non-Union

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Head Start Coach & Mentor to guide and inspire our early childhood education teams. This role is ideal for a skilled early childhood professional who loves teaching, mentoring, and making a difference in the lives of children, families, and staff.

What You’ll Do

As a Head Start Coach & Mentor, you’ll play a vital role in supporting and strengthening our classrooms and home-based programs.

Your work will include:

• Providing individualized Practice-Based Coaching for teachers and home visitors.

• Conducting CLASS observations and helping staff develop professional growth plans.

• Modeling effective teaching strategies using Creative Curriculum and Conscious Discipline.

• Supporting lesson planning, curriculum fidelity, and child assessment processes.

• Collaborating with the Mental Health and Disabilities team to meet children’s social-emotional needs.

• Coordinating professional development workshops, family engagement events, and educational initiatives like Reading is Fundamental (RIF) Week.

• Assisting in classrooms and program activities as needed to maintain quality and consistency.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field with at least two years of classroom experience.

• CLASS Reliable Certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days).

• Familiarity with ChildPlus, Teaching Strategies GOLD, or other early education data systems preferred.

• Experience in adult learning or teacher coaching a plus.

• Bilingual skills welcomed and valued!

Additional Requirements:

• Valid Ohio driver’s license and insurability under NOCAC’s policy.

• Ability to pass all required pre-employment screenings (background check, drug/alcohol test, physical).

• Proficiency with computer systems and data management tools.
