Head Start Coach & Mentor
Location: Archbold, Ohio
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, August through May (34 hours per week)
Pay Rate: $24.03 per hour
Classification: Part-Year, Non-Union

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Head Start Coach & Mentor to guide and inspire our early childhood education teams. This role is ideal for a skilled early childhood professional who loves teaching, mentoring, and making a difference in the lives of children, families, and staff.
What You’ll Do
As a Head Start Coach & Mentor, you’ll play a vital role in supporting and strengthening our classrooms and home-based programs.
Your work will include:

Providing individualized Practice-Based Coaching for teachers and home visitors.

Conducting CLASS observations and helping staff develop professional growth plans.

Modeling effective teaching strategies using Creative Curriculum and Conscious Discipline.

Supporting lesson planning, curriculum fidelity, and child assessment processes.

Collaborating with the Mental Health and Disabilities team to meet children’s social-emotional needs.

Coordinating professional development workshops, family engagement events, and educational initiatives like Reading is Fundamental (RIF) Week.

Assisting in classrooms and program activities as needed to maintain quality and consistency.

Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field with at least two years of classroom experience.

CLASS Reliable Certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days).

Familiarity with ChildPlus, Teaching Strategies GOLD, or other early education data systems preferred.

Experience in adult learning or teacher coaching a plus.

Bilingual skills welcomed and valued!
Additional Requirements:

Valid Ohio driver’s license and insurability under NOCAC’s policy.

Ability to pass all required pre-employment screenings (background check, drug/alcohol test, physical).

Proficiency with computer systems and data management tools.
